Role: Candidate Resourcer – Apprentice Recruiter

Primary function: To provide a regular supply of suitable candidates for the placement in temporary and permanent vacancies by our team of recruitment consultants.

Responsibilities for the role of S3 Science Resourcer:

  • By working with different S3 recruitment consultants on a daily basis it is your responsibility to:
  • Create and run vacancy adverts
  • Speak to candidates about adverts you have run
  • Alert recruiters of suitable candidates
  • Format CV’s
  • Spot candidates who would be suitable for our ‘gold clients’
  • Arrange interviews – Telephone calls and sending out confirmation emails
  • Confirmation ‘on the day of interview’ calls
  • Sorting through the info mail box
  • Giving yourself daily targets to achieve and monitoring these
  • Updating current information recording systems
  • Give out excellent customer service to both candidates and clients
  • Be a real team player – Engage and communicate the needs of the team
  • Sell the roles as a new career option to entry level candidates
  • Handle objections (during probation periods we would not expect you to be able to handle these on your own if these were to arise, we would support you and train you accordingly)
  • Own your own performance. Know what you need to achieve and plan to perform against your KPI’s. (XX amount of calls a day, xx amount of candidates registered etc.)
  • Deliver as promised. Call back candidates when you said you would, be organised and set reminders to do so.

The role of a Resourcer is targeted and is based on how many suitable candidates you find for S3 recruiters vacancies each month. You will be targeted to find both experienced and inexperienced candidates. Your exact target will be discussed with and agreed by your Manager.

Pay and commission structure:

This role will be initially offered on the Governments apprenticeship scheme. As an apprentice you will undertake a training programme provided jointly by S3 Science and Middleton Murray that will last between 12 and 18 months (depending on your ability).

After you have finished your probationary period your salary will be reviewed and in line with your performance and ability you will receive a pay rise and continue your training with Middleton Murray as a Resourcer.


Once you have achieved a basic level of candidate resourcing skills and shown you can follow the fundamental principles outlined in this role in the responsibilities section above you will be expected to enhance your skills by attending an offsite training course in candidate resourcing /generation.

Due to the essential skill of sounding confident and professional during a telephone conversation you may also be required to attend specific telephone training.

Salary: 16,000 - £18,000
