Then look no further, as a permanent position for an Experienced Animal Technician role has arisen at s3 Science. We are currently seeking hardworking, motivated candidates to join our team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking for a new opportunity in a new environment or someone who is looking to progress further within the Scientific Research industry. You will be required to travel and live away in accommodation during the working week if the placement is not in daily commuting distance to you.

What does the role entail?

  • Working at multiple client locations.
  • Responsible for the care, welfare and husbandry of a wide species of animals
  • Work within defined Standard Operational Procedures (SOP’s)
  • Responsible for effectively maintaining animal record management systems including the database systems
  • Performing general health checks on the animals
  • Participate in suitable training programs

What Experience and Qualifications do I need?

To apply for the role of an Experienced Animal Technician, you will need to have the following experience and qualifications:

  • IAT Level 2 qualifications or equivalent
  • Experience of working with laboratory animals or hold an animal related qualification
  • Working knowledge of the Animal Scientific Procedures Act
  • Home office license (desirable)
  • The ability to follow set procedures with a keen eye for detail
  • A genuine passion for working with animals and their welfare

If you do not experience working with laboratory animals then you will not be considered for this role.

All S3 Science Animal Technicians and Animal Technologists are employed on easy to read, straight forward employment contracts. We clearly show your remuneration including overtime rates and the number of hours you will be expected to work each week. We do not operate zero hour’s contracts as we feel they are unfair and misleading.
