Laboratory Support Technician
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and independent Laboratory Support Technician on behalf of our client, to join their innovative team. This is a full time permanent position, offering a full range of benefits as well.

The Role
The successful applicant will play a major role in supporting the laboratory staff by maintaining a high quality laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities:
 Restocking of laboratory supplies and stores room
 Washing and autoclaving glassware
 Organisation of laboratory coat laundering
 Waste management in the laboratories
 Preparation of buffers, reagents and media
 Maintenance of media kitchen area
 Weekly legionella flushing and LEV testing
 Maintenance of laboratories and laboratory equipment
 Assist with asset management
 Assist with collection and distribution of deliveries
 Supporting the purchasing of consumables
 Assisting with the Health and Safety aspects of laboratory support, such as writing SOPs and risk assessments
 Support Head of Facilities with other duties as required

To Apply
To apply for this role, you will have the following experience and qualifications:
 Previous relevant laboratory support experience is desirable
 General science education, to ‘A’ /BTEC level standard or equivalent is preferable
 Strong IT skills including knowledge of spreadsheets
 Good written and oral communication skills
 A high level of organisation skills, with ability to multi-task and prioritize work to meet deadlines
 Excellent attention to detail
 Good team player
 Flexible attitude, with a ‘can-do’ approach
 Ability to work independently
