Licensed Animal Technician
Here at S3 Science, we have an opening for a Licensed Animal Technician in the South West of England, to start as soon as possible on a permanent basis. The client is situated in the Bristol area, and is in the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology industry, to design and carry out programmes to determine drug efficacy and mechanism of action.

Role and responsibilities
The successful applicant will be an integral part of a dynamic and flexible team that conducts a wide range of in-vivo efficacy testing models. As a Licensed Animal Technician, you will have to perform the following responsibilities:
 Basic animal husbandry; cleaning, feeding, and watering
 Using modules 1-3 in accordance with the Home Office regulations
 Handling the animals, recording body weight measurements and check for any illnesses
 Keeping full and accurate records in accordance with Home Office Regulations
 Adhere to the Animal Scientific Procedures Act 1986
 Actively participate within the team, setting an example and showing a flexible approach to delivering team results

Experience and Qualifications
Please see below the desired experience and qualifications for this role:
 A current Home Office Personal License modules 1-3
 Experience working under the Code of Practice for the housing and care of animals used in scientific procedures
 Experience handling animals and working under SPF conditions
 Experience administering substances by a variety of routes such as intranasal, intragastric, intraperitoneal, intravenous, topical and intramuscular
 Experience of performing schedule 1’s and anaesthesia of small rodents
 Experience of blood sampling and dissection of small rodents
 Good record keeping, data analysis, and report writing skills
 Experience of working in a teamwork focused environment with a flexible attitude to working hours
 Ability to adhere to strict hygiene procedures

Salary: 16,000 - £24,000 Depending on experience
