Maintenance Technician
Here at S3 Science, we have a great opportunity for a Maintenance technician to further their career in one of the UK’s leading Contract Research Organisations. This is a full time permanent position, situated in the Leicestershire area.

The Role
As a maintenance technician, your role will be to provide technical and practical support to the Team Leader. Work on own initiative to maintain and repair plant and equipment. Maintain competence for the maintenance, repair and installation of Electrical/Mechanical plant and equipment. Carry out investigations into plant faults/failures and take necessary action to repair.
This job contributes to organizational success by:
 Monitor, repair and replace controls equipment to building management systems. Commission as necessary
 Follow Planned Preventative Maintenance regime for Electrical/Mechanical equipment, fire alarms, boiler plant, electrical distribution, lighting, BMS controls, AHU’s, pumps, standby generators, etc
 Undertake minor works as required
 Provide Technical assistance to Team Leader for Electrical/Mechanical problems encountered on site
 Calibration and commissioning of equipment to Standard Operating Procedures, keeping accurate records at all times
 Member of the out of hour’s call-out team
 Follow the company’s safe systems of work
 Liaise with other departments when working on plant or equipment which may cause disruption ensuring that department personnel are informed prior to work commences.
 Work to relevant Company SOP’s
 Observe safety regulations when carrying out work with regard to self and others
 Manage sub-contractors through disruption of services.
 Perform escort duties of contractors for out of hours operation
 Minor installation works as and when required.
 Completing internal work requests on building integrity and infrastructure
 Ensure two way communication with customers to help develop service requirements

What Experience and Qualifications do you need?
To apply for this role, you will have the following qualifications, skills or experience:
 A time served Apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications in relevant Mechanical or Electrical discipline
 Detailed working knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical services to incorporate;
 Working safely with Steam
 HWS related plant and equipment
 Air Handling systems
 Knowledge of refrigeration systems
 Held a similar position for at least 3 years
 Health & Safety awareness, and is able to demonstrate compliance
 Working Knowledge of Building Management systems
 Computer literate
 Understanding of office tools
