Pharmacology Assistant
Cambridge, East Anglia

Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Home office personal licence holder as a Pharmacology Assistant to provide support to Scientific teams in delivering Safety Pharmacology and efficacy in vivo animal studies.

You will be responsible for conducting regulated procedures detailed in their personal and local project licences in accordance with ASPA and study protocols, primarily in rodent species.  The role will also involve working with study scientists in designing and executing study schedules, generation and quality checking of study data, performing post study data analysis and simple statistics.  The successful candidate will also be expected to process and analyse biological samples generated from animal studies and spend some time in the laboratory as well as the animal unit.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a team on a variety of different study types learning new in vivo skills and techniques in a dynamic GLP environment.

Key skills

  • Current holder of a Home Office licence (Rodent Modules 1-3 with 4 desirable) will be experienced with an expert knowledge of ASPA
  • Previous experience in working in a cross matrix environment adhering to in vivo study protocols
  • Basic laboratory skills such as centrifuging, pipetting and homogenizing
  • Previous experience in working in a GLP environment desirable
  • Competent in simple dose formulation
  • Demonstrate a history of excellent oral communication and team working skills
  • Competent in basic office software such as word and excel


  • Relevant in vivo experience in the pharmaceutical or CRO industry
