Our client offers experimental services to companies in sectors such as pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology companies, virtual companies and healthcare investors, in the UK, mainland Europe, USA and Japan. Situated in Nottingham, the client with their partners, are in the hub of bioscience in Nottinghamshire.

The Role

The role will be varied and challenging and responsibility will grow with experience, initially working with our current QA consultant.

An overview of the role and the key skills and qualities required follows below:

  • Ensuring that Drug Abuse studies have been conducted in compliance with the Principles of Good Laboratory Practice
  • Conducting study-based, process and facility inspections
  • Auditing study plans, amendments and final reports for compliance and accuracy and convey the findings to Study Directors and Test Facility Management
  • Assisting with Client and Regulatory site audits
  • Conducting vendor audits
  • Maintaining QA monitoring records (study, process and facility)

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A sound knowledge of the Principles of Good Laboratory Practice governing the conduct of non-clinical regulatory studies, either through direct quality assurance experience or relevant laboratory experience
  • High attention to detail to be able to audit and review scientific data
  • Pragmatic by nature but with the confidence to follow through to a solution when study deficiencies are identified
  • Good organisational and record keeping skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate scientific information in a clear and concise manner
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel
  • A helpful outgoing personality
  • An affinity for working as part of a team
  • An interest in building a career in a scientific environment
  • An understanding of analytical chemistry techniques including HPLC & GC would be useful
