Research Scientist – Molecular Biology
Here at S3 Science, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Research Scientist specialising in Molecular Biology. This is a fixed term contract, initially for a period of 12 months, based in the Cambridge area.

The Role
Our client is recruiting a laboratory-based scientist with extensive experience in molecular biology and cell line generation to support a number of high profile projects in its portfolio. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Key responsibilities:
Support for Antibody Discovery.
Core duties will include:
 Design of antibody or antigen constructs for expression
 Cloning of antibody or antigen coding sequences into expression vectors
 Engineering of antibody
 Generation of antigen expressing stable cell line for immunisation and assay
 Preparation of presentations for scientific meetings and written progress updates
 Support of any discovery-related activity as required; in vitro assay development and screening (training will be provided)

Experience and Qualifications:
To apply for this role, you will need the following experience and qualifications:
 PhD or equivalent in a relevant scientific discipline
 Extensive experience in molecular biology e.g. cloning, mutagenesis, vector design
 Extensive experience in cell line generation e.g. cell culture, stable/transient transfection
 Ability to work to deadlines and maintain clear and accurate records
 Innovative thinking, flexibility to adapt quickly and a “can do” attitude
 Computer literate with knowledge of bioinformatic applications (DNASTAR Lasergene suite, Genedata)
 Knowledge of antibody engineering
 Knowledge of flow cytometry for cell line characterisation and single cell sorting
