Scientific Planner

Here at S3 Science, we are looking for a Planner to join our client’s growing planning team in Cambridgeshire. Our client provides essential products and research services for pharmaceutical, crop protection, chemical companies, universities, governments and research organizations.

Job Role

Project Managers report to Planner and are responsible for creating overarching study schedules that satisfy the customer’s requirements.  Planners also establish the full details of the schedule, working closely with operational managers, to ensure all required resources are considered and secured.

As a Planner, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Interpreting study plans and developing accurate study schedules which includes but is not limited to;
    • Selection of study activities
    • Assignment of timelines to study activities
    • Securing of resources
    • Working with managers in operations to ensure the most effective use of resources smoothing workloads whilst ensuring a customers’ timeline expectations are met
    • Assessing the impact of changes to the schedule and escalating as required
    • Performing weekly schedule updates, identifying risks to on time delivery of draft reports and working with operations to take remedial action

Role requirements

The skills and experience we’re looking for are:

  • A degree in a relevant scientific field
  • Able to demonstrate a methodical approach with good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Competent in MS Office
  • Able to undertake basic problem solving and confident in decision making
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills to develop good working relationships with colleagues at all levels of the business

Salary: 23,000 - £29,000 - Depending on experience
