Scientific Trainee / Lab Technician

Let’s help you kick-start your career in science! You will join the Radiosynthesis team, where a fully comprehensive training programme will be offered. We are looking for a Scientific Trainee / Lab Technician to join their successful and growing team. As a Scientific Trainee, you will support the senior radiochemists in practical laboratory activities, to help ensure customer and company expectations are met.
As a Scientific Trainee / Laboratory Technician your main responsibilities will be:
· Conducting technical and scientific procedures with appropriate training and supervision. Supporting the Senior Rradiochemists in the setting up of chemical reaction equipment, plus monitoring of synthesis reactions and work-up of these reactions, using standard analytical techniques of HPLC and TLC.
· Leading in general laboratory housekeeping and undertaking study / laboratory related activities and record keeping. Routine housekeeping activities (including emptying bins, changing benchkote, cleaning surfaces and defrosting freezers plus maintaining laboratory consumables stock levels). More radiosynthesis specific housekeeping tasks include radioactive waste disposal and glassware soaking/washing.
· Becoming familiar with the preparation of results and developing an understanding of data interpretation.
· Maintaining compliance with GLP and HSE regulations at all times.
The skills and experience we’re looking for are:
· A Levels, BTEC, or Degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry or related discipline
· The ability to work as part of a team

You must have your own transport due to rural location.

Salary: 17,000 - £19,000
