We are proud to support such an established organisation in recruiting for Experience Animal Technicians for their join a busy and successful facility, that is dedicated to the care and welfare of the animals.

What does the role entail?

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking for a new opportunity in a new environment or someone who is looking to progress further within the Scientific Research industry.

The daily duties as an Experienced Animal Technician include:

Ability to lead a team of Animal Technicians and Trainee Animal Technicians
Conduct daily animal husbandry duties, including feeding, watering, cleaning and animal observations as directed by the team leader
Cleaning and maintaining animal rooms, associated areas and equipment, in accordance with SOP & WI’s
The production, birthing, weaning, sexing, counting and weighing of animals
The ability to implement basic animal breeding systems and an understanding of the importance of replacement breeding stock selection criteria
Ability to coordinate activities logically, problem solving, maintain confidentiality, be able to work with interruptions

What experience and qualifications do I need?

Experienced in routine manual work that requires attention to detail
Experience in animal handling of rodents
Minimum of 5 GCSE’s grade A-C or equivalent qualification including Mathematics and English
IAT Level 2
Ability to gain or current holder of a Home Office personal license
IT Skills

Salary: £23,000 - £28,000
