As an Animal Technician, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and welfare to the animals, performing animal husbandry duties including:
- Provision of adequate fresh food and water
- Provision of environmental enrichment
- Ensuring enclosures and cages are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness
- Conducting daily tasks which include temperature monitoring, animal checks and general housekeeping within the department
- Ensuring that all animal husbandry and procedural records/data are up to date and accurate
- Performing tasks in accordance with company work instructions and procedures
Skills and Experience-
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Natural empathy for animals
- The ability to learn and the capability to further develop your skills in animal husbandry, and care
- Previous experience of working with and handling animals
- GCSEs, or equivalent qualifications A*-C (4+) in Maths, Science and English or an Animal Care or Animal Management Qualification at Level 2 or higher
- IT skills of a good standard
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to commute to site is essential
