Deputy Manager and NTCO

We are working alongside our client in the search for an enthusiastic Deputy Manager to join their Biomedical Services Unit as their team expands.
Our client part-takes in life science research into wellbeing and human behaviour and have recently opened a new research facility, giving you the opportunity to join their friendly, eager team.
This is a full-time, permanent position offering a salary of up to £42,500 p/a.
Duties and Responsibilities
- You will be responsible of managing the technical staff and assisting the Unit Manager of resources and facilities, ensuring that the appropriate legal requirements are delivered
- Providing advice and information to all users of the facility as NTCO
- Assisting the BSU RTP Animal Manager where necessary with the husbandry, cleaning, selective breeding and maintenance
- Undertaking development activities where necessary in order to keep knowledge and skills up to date
- Ensuring that all those working with animals under the Animals Scientific Procedures Act 1986 are educated, trained and supervised
Personal Specification
- Experience in the care of laboratory animals
- Experience in conducting training and competency assessments
- Experience in experimental techniques and regulated procedures
- Home Office Named Training and Competency certificate
- Home Office Named Animal Care and Welfare certificate
- Home Office PIL certificate
- Knowledge of budgeting, procurement, invoicing and project costing
