We have an amazing new opportunity to work in the Life Science sector as a Facility Assistant taking on a range of maintenance and cleaning duties within the Laboratory as well as working alongside Scientists and Research Assistants to ensure the smooth running of the Laboratory.

It is a full-time permanent role paying between £16,000 – £18,000 depending on age and experience per annum.
The Role of a Facility Assistant
As a Facility Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining the smooth day to day running’s of the laboratory
§Loading, operation and emptying/unloading of Spray port, including the completion of any log sheets, Fume chamber, including the completion of data collection, log and safety devices, Shipping box, Dunk tank and Autoclave including disposing of waste and all data collection controls
§Cleaning and maintaining animal rooms and associated areas to the company’s written standards; washing animal cages using cage wash machine or manual method, setting animal cages up ready for use, completing appropriate records
§Reporting any damaged caging or entry equipment
§Maintaining water pipes and drinker fixtures
§Making transport boxes for customers for despatch and ensuring a sufficient supply is available for packing
§Making culling boxes for transporting animals
§Making up diet sachets as required
§Receiving and dispatching of goods into and out of the barrier, with the correct use of the sterilization procedures to maintain barrier status
§Carrying out regular stock checks and ensuring there are sufficient supplies of all materials required inside the barrier
§Carrying out the changing of wall/ceiling filters as directed
§Carrying out and recording any plant and environment checks as directed
