Laboratory Technician
Exeter, South West

Are you a recent graduate with an interest in Science? Are you looking to put your experience working with insects to good use? Look no further.

Our client based in Exeter are looking for an Insect Technician with a strong work ethic and dedication to join their research team and provide support for their research projects. 

 

Main responsibilities as a Laboratory Technician include but not limited to:

  • Deliver insect husbandry and care tasks including maintenance of stocks, food preparation and health checks
  • Keep the facility to a high standard of cleanliness
  • Assisting in maintaining laboratory equipment
  • Assisting with maintaining animal biosecurity
  • Liaising with and forming relationships with various research groups within the facility

 

Essential Criteria

  • Prior experience working with and handling insects
  • A general interest in Science
  • Good knowledge of insect husbandry and animal care
  • Ability to communicate tasks and processes to others

 

Desirable Criteria:

  • Applied Science qualification/degree
  • Experience working with Aquatics
