Lead ADMET Scientist
Macclesfield, North West

Here at S3 Discovery, we are currently working with our client, a global Contract Research Organisation, who is currently looking for a Lead Scientist, specialising in ADMET, to join the team at the site based in Cheshire, with a salary of up to £38K and other industry-leading benefits, do not miss out on this role!

The Lead ADMET Scientist will be responsible for ensuring that In-Vitro DMPK studies are completed to the required scientific and customer expected standard. As the Lead ADMET Scientist, you must conduct experiments (in a contract research environment) with the utmost integrity, and you will be a role model and provide support for less experienced scientists in the team.

Main responsibilities as a Lead ADMET Scientist include but not limited to:

  • Supervising departmental sample receipts, scheduling, assay runs, mass spectrometry analysis, data processing, data reporting, returning client data within agreed timelines – all to a very high standard
  • Managing & mentoring junior members of staff as part of the team for proficient Departmental workflow
  • Active role in Health & Safety of the ADMET Laboratory and staff, maintaining accurate and up to date documentation, ensuring high standards of safety are met


The ideal candidate will be competent with mass spectrometry and will have an extensive hands-on approach with various analytical techniques. You will have a good ability to review and approve the experimental date for detailed interpretation and reporting. You will be responsible for fulfilling customers’ queries concerning all technical aspects of the studies, from design to results, so experience in this will be essential. You will also have the following skills and experience:

  • Have in-depth understanding, knowledge and hands-on proficiency of in vitro studies, bioanalysis, aseptic cell culture, general DMPK study designs, contract research organisation workflows, and sample management and tracking, and outsourcing
  • Experience managing staff and other team members
  • Be an outstanding communicator with good skills in written, spoken and presentation media
  • Be fully competent in mass spectrometry analysis, have a good ability for trouble-shooting, and data processing
