We are looking for Licenced Animal Technicians, to join our client’s expanding research team, thanks to the internal growth and demand of the client’s work. They are in the process of building a new facility to help support their continued growth.
The successful Licenced Animal Technicians will be cross-trained and work with the multiple animal species on site, you will perform regulated procedures as required by the project licenses for each study.
The successful Licenced Animal Technicians will have significant experience of In Vivo Experiments. Further job details are below:
- Understand the requirements of the Animal (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 which governs the use of animals in scientific research
- Predict and interpret animal’s response
- Make independent decisions regarding experimental progress when necessary
- Record detailed information about each animal including weight, behavioural changes, etc
- Collecting samples and store appropriately for downstream analysis
- Supervises other technical staff in the relevant techniques and responsibility for their development
- Ensure the welfare of the animals is paramount and humane endpoints are fully adhered to
- Working at containment level 3 will be required including ensuring health and safety procedures are adhered to at all times
What experience and qualifications do I need?
- Home Office License modules A-B (module 4/surgery is desirable)
- Experience of delivering a specialised and professional technical service for In Vivo research
- Experience of providing technician assistance for In Vivo research utilising a wide range of techniques
- IAT qualification is desirable
Salary: 21,000 - £28,000
