What does the role entail?
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking for a new opportunity in a new environment or someone who is looking to progress further within the Scientific Research industry.
The daily duties as a Licensed Animal Technician include:
- Conduct daily animal husbandry duties, including feeding, watering, cleaning and animal observations as directed by the team leader
- Cleaning and maintaining animal rooms, associated areas and equipment, in accordance with SOP & WI’s
- The production, birthing, weaning, sexing, counting and weighing of animals
- To keep their Section Head, Laboratory Manager or Business Manager – Toxicology informed concerning the status of their work, including situations which may lead to potential delays
- To undertake routine intermediate laboratory duties and/or clerical duties and project work unsupervised, documenting work in compliance with company procedures
- To work in compliance with The Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1989 (A(SP)A), GMP and the policies and procedures of the HRL Quality System
- Ability to coordinate activities logically, problem solving, maintain confidentiality, be able to work with interruptions
- To hold a Personal License and routinely undertake regulated procedures
What experience and qualifications do I need?
- BSc in relevant field or equivalent industry experience
- Experience performing regulated procedures
- Current Home Office License holder
- IAT Level 3
Salary: £21,000 - £28,000 PA
