Principal Scientist – Computational Chemistry

As part of their continued growth and expansion, they are on the lookout for an experienced computational Chemist, to make their first step in a managerial role – in both their Nottingham and Manchester hubs.

Responsibilities:

To help recruit, mentor and manage four or more computational chemists
To work with customers to understand their needs and translate these into credible project proposals
To lead the delivery of customer computational work to a routinely high standard
To fully exploit access to leading-edge computational chemistry technology
Contribute to marketing and scientific communications in computational chemistry
Contribute to training within the computational chemistry group
Contribute to the computational chemistry leadership team and the future direction of the group

Requirements:

You will have a Ph.D. in computational chemistry or a related discipline
A minimum of 5 years of industry experience
Experience in applying comp chem at multiple points along the drug discovery pipeline
Line management experience is preferred, but the potential to lead is more important
CRO or Pharma experience
Familiar with pitching work to customers, internal or external
Substantial AI/ML experience in drug discovery projects
Genuinely interested in new technology and confident to apply it to projects

Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 pa
