As part of their continued growth and expansion, they are on the lookout for an experienced computational Chemist, to make their first step in a managerial role – in both their Nottingham and Manchester hubs.
Responsibilities:
- To help recruit, mentor and manage four or more computational chemists
- To work with customers to understand their needs and translate these into credible project proposals
- To lead the delivery of customer computational work to a routinely high standard
- To fully exploit access to leading-edge computational chemistry technology
- Contribute to marketing and scientific communications in computational chemistry
- Contribute to training within the computational chemistry group
- Contribute to the computational chemistry leadership team and the future direction of the group
Requirements:
- You will have a Ph.D. in computational chemistry or a related discipline
- A minimum of 5 years of industry experience
- Experience in applying comp chem at multiple points along the drug discovery pipeline
- Line management experience is preferred, but the potential to lead is more important
- CRO or Pharma experience
- Familiar with pitching work to customers, internal or external
- Substantial AI/ML experience in drug discovery projects
- Genuinely interested in new technology and confident to apply it to projects
