Here at S3 Discovery, we are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Project Manager to join the team in specialising in research to advance cancer prevention, early diagnosis and screening. They perform research of efficacy, cost-effectiveness and technologies to improve existing and establish new screening programmes.
We are looking for an enthusiastic project manager to join the CPTU team for an exciting new cancer early detection study in 2021. Supporting the clinical project manager, you will lead on all aspects of project management of clinical research support services required for the NHS research study of a multi-cancer early detection test with GRAIL Bio UK Ltd, NHS England and NHS Improvement. Over 700,000 people across England will be invited to receive a novel CE-marked, blood test for the presence of over 50 cancers. You will support the setup and delivery of the project in close coordination with GRAIL Inc and key stakeholders. You will have a strong interest and knowledge of health innovation and health service delivery, and experience of delivering health research projects. You will have excellent organisational and planning skills with an intrinsic interest in improving the health and well-being of communities through translational research and evidence-based innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Devise and develop research strategy for delivery of high-profile, national research study
- Develop and maintain key strategic relationships with programme partners
- Line manage a large team of trial staff, ensuring systems and processes are effectively implemented to ensure the Chief Investigator is supported in conducting trials to required standards
- Independently provide trial management advice at the planning and funding application stages of new projects and ensure a consistent data management service is provided
- Set standards and supervise the monitoring of trial sites, to problem solve and review source data
- Ensure trial timelines are monitored and kept to schedule
- Develop an in-depth knowledge of the trial protocols, to be able to respond to queries
- Monitor and coordinate intervention supplies and intervention compliance
Key Skills and Experience
- Develop and maintain key relationships with project partners and third party service providers in a high-profile national research study in cancer screening
- Advise on key performance indicators for inclusion in third party contracts and monitor third party performance to these
- Devise and develop project plans for implementation and delivery including large-scale contact of research participants and utilisation of mobile phlebotomy units for participants
- Oversee the support services required to manage participants’ appointment booking activities and recruitment coordinate the mobile phlebotomy units movements in collaboration with the cancer alliance regions and mobile unit third party provider
- Line manage a team of coordinators/administrators enrolling healthy volunteers in research study nationwide and ensuring systems and processes are effectively implemented to support the Chief Investigator in conducting trials to required standards
- Lead on query and issue resolution associated with all of the clinical research support services
- Support the Clinical project manager to develop and oversee budget and financial implementation
