S3 Science are proud to be collaborating with an industry-leader in the field of Oncology research. You will be working within our client’s Drug Discovery Unit, ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the assay development and screening activities within the unit. As part of a multi-disciplinary team you will be responsible for the development and optimisation. This is a full-time, fixed-term position, offering a salary up to £48,000 per annum.

 

The Role

We are currently looking for a highly motivated Senior Bioscientist to join the Drug Discovery

Unit to provide assay development, screening and enzymology support to our oncology

focused drug discovery programs.

Your duties will range from:

  • Develop biochemical screening assays for novel drug targets to support the drug discovery process from HI to LO
  • Perform medium throughput compound enzymatic and binding screens
  • Characterise compounds to elucidate their mechanism of inhibition
  • Explore and implement novel assay technologies for use within the group
  • Support multiple projects with routine cross-discipline interactions
  • Make contributions to scientific publications and project reports, project meetings
  • and present findings as appropriate
  • Provide specialist advice and guidance to colleagues
  • Share knowledge of techniques and procedures for the benefit of others

 

Role Requirements

To be successful in your application for this role, you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Degree in Biological discipline (or equivalent relevant experience)
  • Experience across a wide range of biochemical assay screening platforms and technologies
  • A broad experience of biochemical assay development
  • Compound profiling expertise
  • Experience with robotics and automation
  • Extensive bioscience experience
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000
