Study Coordinator

Here at S3 Discovery, we are working on behalf of one of the oldest, most prestigious institutes in the UK, in finding a study coordinator in order to contribute to the technical excellent and efficient running of the Biological Services Units for our client.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating in-vivo experimental studies on behalf of and in liaison with all research teams at the facility. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of project management databases to ensure compliant recording under the various guidance and legal frameworks.

Main Duties:
 To coordinate and manage, including allocation of technical resources, in-vivo experimental procedures on behalf of and in liaison with all research teams
 Liaison with researchers to plan and acquire full details of individual studies from concept to completion
 To facilitate completion of cross-site studies in the BSU and provision of data, in a timely and accurate manner
 Developing and utilizing the skill base in the BSU team in collaboration with the NTCO
 Allocation of licensed technologists in conjunction with the BSU managers to ensure appropriate workloads are maintained
 Manage and coordinate receipt of tissues, cells and other in-vivo materials, including screening profiles and preparation for implantation
 To foster a collaborative cross-site research community
 To advise on and implement best practice for achieving optimum results in line with the 3R’s

To apply for this role, you will need to meet the following criteria below:
 Knowledge and understanding of the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 and current legislation
 Essential to hold a Home Office Personal Licence
 Proven experience liaising with Home Office Inspectors and Named Veterinary Surgeons
 Ability to work closely to SOP’s and other management systems
 Proven experience in cancer in-vivo modelling including imaging and large cohort animal studies
 Flexibility to work in laboratory and BSU environments
 Ability to conduct and supervise study protocols consistently with high rigor of detail and record-keeping

Salary: 35 - 45K
