With continued growth, they are seeking to expand their offering in the liver disease area, in particular non-alcoholic steatohepatitis and liver disease associated with metabolic syndrome; we are looking to recruit a highly motivated, enthusiastic person to join their team. Situated in Nottingham, the client with their partners, are set in the heart of Life Sciences in the Midlands.
The Role
The role itself will be based within the liver disease area. The ideal candidate will have a PhD (or equivalent) in liver disease research, several years’ post-doctoral experience in industry or academia and possess strong practical experience with particular emphasis on in vivo models for drug discovery alongside some experience in cellular/molecular biology.

- PhD or equivalent in liver disease research and have several years’ post-doctoral experience in academia or industry
- Experience of in vivo study design and experiments in animal models of liver disease, particularly NASH models
- Good lab-based skills with particular emphasis on cellular biology techniques including, tissue sample processing, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry and image analysis, ELISA, western blotting, PCR, RT-PCR and general molecular biology
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Good attention to detail and recording of experimental data
- Highly motivated
- Ability to execute projects to aggressive timelines with the ability to adapt to rapid changes in project priorities
- Some out of hours work will be required
