Here at S3 Discovery, we are currently working with our client, a global Contract Research Organisation, who is currently looking for a Team Leader, specialising in Method Development and Validation, to join the team at the site based in Bradford, with a salary of up to £32K and other industry-leading benefits, do not miss out on this role!
The Team Leader will lead a team of scientists who are performing feasibility studies, analytical testing, method development and validation using a range of techniques including materials char-acterisation and separation sciences, as appropriate.
An ideal candidate will have experience of leading analytical projects in a commercial setting and will have previously supervised junior colleagues. The site operates to current Good Manufacturing Practice and regulatory Good Laboratory Practice.
Main responsibilities:
- Receiving analytical requests, and carrying out (or supporting their team in carrying out) revenue generating laboratory-based analytical project work, applying diverse logical techniques to a wide range of sample types
- Line managing an internal team; selecting suitable team members for the completion of analytical tasks; ensuring the quality of team outputs
- Overseeing team members carrying out method progress and validation, including drafting of related documents (methods, protocols, reports)
- Guarantee all equipment is maintained and upkeep is managed by the suitable staff
- Contributing to and following to company standard operating procedures
The Team Leader will have technical/scientific skills equivalent with those of an experienced analytical scientist. In their new role they will take on responsibilities in line management and work scheduling as well as in guiding the work of their staff, ensuring effective organisation of resources and time. They will work with their Section Manager to ensure operational targets are met.
What experience and qualifications do I need?
- BSc or PhD in an analytical, chemical or related scientific field with demonstrated, relevant experience
- Broad practical experience in developing, validating and applying analytical methods; analytical research skills
- Experience of leading a team of junior scientists or previous people management experience
- Experience of working in a regulated environment (quality, health and safety)
