We currently have a new and exciting opportunity as a Trainee Animal Technician working with one of our well-known clients. They are offering successful candidates the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of the industry and role whilst working as an Animal Technician.
In the role, you will be required to carry out general animal husbandry and needs duties in our client’s multi-million-pound facility whilst taking part in our client’s industry-leading training.
Responsibilities
- Washing of animal cages using a wash machine or manual method, as directed
- Cleaning and maintaining the animal rooms and associated areas to the company’s written standards
- Handling animals competently with due care and in line with policy and guidelines
- Selection of animals for routine Health Monitoring submissions
- Daily feeding, watering, and observation of the animals alongside routine welfare and environmental checks
- Receiving and dispatching of goods into and out of the barrier, with the correct use of the sterilization procedures to maintain barrier status
- any plant and environment check as directed
Qualifications & Requirements
- Passionate about animals and animal welfare
- Experience handling animals or relevant qualification
- Strong work ethic and good attention to detail
- Honest and respectful, in line with our client’s core values
- Organized, self-motivated, and able to work to timeframes
- GCSEs in Maths and English or equivalent qualifications
- This is a physical role requiring manual dexterity
- A drivers License is required
Salary: £19,500 - £21,500
